Significance of the File

Definition of standard colors, referenced to by names. A file of type colors.dat is in the directory $PROGHOME/cfg/ and will be used automatically. So all colors defined in this file can be used by all users. Further on a user can create and use a second file of this type, placed in the working directory. So the user can define her/his own colors.

    All color names in $PROGHOME/cfg/ are defined according to Netscape-3-Farben except for the colors Green and DeepGreen. Green is equivalent to Lime and DeepGreen is equivalent to Green in netscape notation. GKSForeground is a self defined color and is equivalent to GKS foreground, which is a little bit different to White.
