Short Description of Functionality
The program POLWIND extracts polygons out of an overall area. Only points with coordinates between certain limits of a rectangular window get extracted. Furthermore the user can choose between two output formats. For polygons in files of type insel.dat he can add a comment e.g. the date of generation. This information is not processed by other programs but it may help the reader of the file.
Input-Files
- file with window coordinates
- file with polygons of the overall area (filetype : digi.gkk)
Output-Files
- (optional) file with extracted polygons (filetype: digi.gkk)
- (optional) file with extracted polygons (filetype: insel.dat)
Methodology
Polygons with one part inside and one part outside the concerning area get cut. POLWIND creates a new starting or ending point which is placed directly at the edge of the extracted area. POLWIND does not extract single points.
