Short Description of Functionality

The program LZKMF is a postprocessor for different numerical models (e.g. TRIM-2D, TRIM-3D, TELEMAC-2D, UNTRIM, UNTRIM2007 etc.). LZKMF automatically computes several characteristic numbers of morphodynamics which are independent of the presence of tides. The data must be given as time-series (in universal direct access data format). The results of LZKMF analyses may be visualised/displayed with the graphical postprocessors HVIEW2D (for 2D/3D-data), LQ2PRO (for profile-data) or GVIEW2D (for location data).

The following physical quantities must be available as input time series:

  1. time-dependent (dynamic) bathymetry, and
  2. (optional) time-dependent vertical erosion.

Within the period of data analysis the following characteristic numbers of morphodynamics (independent of tides) can be (optionally) calculated:

  • maximum depth (derived from bathymetry)
  • minimum depth (derived from bathymetry)
  • (optional) mean depth (derived from bathymetry)
  • (optional) maximum variation of depth (derived from bathymetry)
  • (optional) change of depth (derived from bathymetry)
  • (optional) maximum increase of depth (derived from vertical erosion; in case from bathymetry)
  • (optional) maximum decrease of bottom (derived from vertical erosion; in case from bathymetry)
  • (optional) sum of vertical erosion (derived from vertical erosion; in case from bathymetry)
  • (optional) sum of vertical deposition (derived from vertical erosion; in case from bathymetry)
  • (optional) ratio for deposition/erosion (derived from vertical erosion; in case from bathymetry)

Input-Files

  1. general input data (filetype lzkmf.dat)
  2. time series data which shall be analysed (files of type dirz.bin.r, dirz.bin.i, and dirz.bin)
  3. grid for 2D/3D-data (filetype gitter05.dat/bin or filetype selafin or filetype untrim_grid.dat) or profile-topography for profile-data (filetype profil05.bin)

Output-Files

  1. results of data analyses (files of type dirz.bin.r, dirz.bin.i, and dirz.bin)
  2. informative printer file (filetype lzkmf.sdr)
  3. (optional) trace of program execution (filetype lzkmf.trc)

Methodology

An arbitrary long/short period of time can be chosen to calculate characteristic numbers of morphodynamics which are independent of tides. For every node of the grid the given time-serie is analysed automatically by means of several analyses modules.
