Definition
Part of the coastal water between the baseline, i.e. in the North Sea, the line of the lowest astronomical tide (Lowest Astronomical Tide - LAT), in the Baltic Sea, the line of the Middle Low water level (MNW) along the mainland coast - in a barrier island chain along the island coasts and the connecting line between fixed points for straightening between the islands and front bay coasts - on one hand and the territorial boundary as the seaward boundary of the territorial sea on the other. For coastal waters of the North Sea also outside the territorial boundary north of the island Langeoog belongs existing deepwater harbor.
