Explanations

Frequency [0.0,1.0] for which the current velocity underflows a given velocity threshold within the period of data analysis.

  • left top: result for threshold 0.1 m/s.
  • right top: result for threshold 0.5 m/s.
  • left bottom: result for threshold 0.9 m/s.
  • right bottom: result for threshold 1.3 m/s.

Please notice that frequency cannot reach a value of 1.0 in temporarily dry areas (e.g. tidal flats).

Examples

current velocity < 0.1 m/s current velocity < 0.5 m/s
frequency with which the current velocity lies below the limit velocity of 0.1 m/s
frequency with which the current velocity lies below the limit velocity of 0.5 m/s
current velocity < 0.9 m/s current velocity < 1.3 m/s
frequency with which the current velocity lies below the limit velocity of 0.9 m/s
frequency with which the current velocity lies below the limit velocity of 1.3 m/s
