Inland waters

Waters landward of the coastal waters; according to Art. 8 I UNCLOS (UNCLOS; Law of the Sea) inland waters or territorial waters are water bodies that lie inland from the baseline of the territorial sea of a State. The normal baseline of the territorial sea extends where the low-water line is at average low water. These include on the North Sea, the Wadden Sea (between mainland and upstream chain of islands) and the bays (eg. Jade Bay), on the Baltic Sea, the Bodden, estuaries, lagoon, inlets (eg. Schlei), bays and sounds.
