Definition
Dimension after the freeboard rules for sea and inland waterway vessels; Distance between a water surface and the top of a bank or dyke or the structural lower edge of a superstructure; Vertical distance between the crown and the highest water level or the accumulation curve at the design flood runoff. It is composed of wind surge, wave run, ice jams and a safety margin.
