Definition

System to illuminate a prominent object to facilitate orientation and hazard prevention. Examples: pier heads, piers, as an attachment accessory at lock entrances and harbor entrances. "Illuminated objects" are specially erected objects that are illuminated. "Filament", however, are specially erected objects that are irradiated from the inside.
