Definition
Waters outside the fairway - separated or not separated from the waterway through construction - and land in a specified area with facilities for the landing, loading, unloading and the like of vessels and the storage of goods. A port provides watercrafts increased protection insofar as it is separated by buildings of the waterway, eg. from waves, currents, ice conditions, continuous waterway. Ports without structural separation of the waterway may be: Parallel ports, harbors or triangle ports multiple edge ports. Dock + ship lock system + ...... = Dock complex.
