Definition

The following definitions of the damage classes are used in the context of the structure inspection according to VV-WSV 2101:

Property class 1: Damage which is currently not affecting the carrying capacity and / or suitability for use is not likely to be impaired. These may be e.g. Damages that have existed since the erection of the building and have not changed since then.

Property class 2: Damage to the current capacity and / or usability is not or only slightly affected, but will be impaired with a suspected development. A further observation within the scope of the provided test cycle is sufficient.

Property class 3: Damage which currently affects the carrying capacity and / or serviceability; Both are still given. It is necessary to check whether the further observation is sufficient within the scope of the provided test cycle or whether a shortening of the interval is necessary.

Damage class 4: The carrying capacity and / or suitability for use of the component are no longer available. Damage which is an acute threat to human beings and / or makes the use of this component no longer possible. During the building inspection, immediate measures are necessary, which exclude or avert the danger to life and limb.
