Definition

Can be used for the structuring of human-environment interactions. Here are the driver (D) indicators, to illustrate the causes or the drive of environmental changes. Most are various causes that can trigger a problem, but a cause can have different effects. The concrete loads arising from these causes are described by the pressure (P) indicators. State (S) indicators depict the current status, thus the quality of the local environment. Following are the impact (I) indicators which illustrate the effects that arise due to the set condition. But they just reflect the effects, they can not say anything about the causes. Seized (counter) measures and responses to environmental changes can be described finally with the response (R) indicators.
