Definition
Device for the distribution (eg. optics), filtering (eg. color filter) or forming of the light of a lamp including the necessary components for securing, protecting and operating the lamp. Lights for signs / signals serve the direct effect on the eye, lamps for lighting serve the brightening of the environment, the indirect effect on the eye. Examples: beacon lantern of a lighthouse, marine lantern of a light buoy.
