Definition
Security describes a process which is free from risk of impairment or is regarded as risk-free, and includes personal safety and property protection; Lightness refers to the absence of any specific difficulties in guiding and navigating a vessel, the higher the lightness, the higher the security. The lightness can for instance be influenced by fairway width, turning radius, visibility, information.
