Modelling Procedures for Inland Areas

One-dimensional and multi-dimensional hydrodynamic and morphodynamic modelling procedures are used by the Department of Hydraulic Engineering in Inland Areas for the assessment and optimisation of measures for maintenance and river regulation on free-flowing and impounded rivers. The application and continuing development of hydrodynamic modelling methods, morphodynamic modelling methods and methods for modelling the hydraulics of hydraulic engineering structures are accorded a high degree of importance. Alongside the use of accredited commercial software, the most up-to-date numerical procedures with relevance to the requirements of hydraulic engineering for inland transportation are being developed in the Department of Hydraulic Engineering in Inland Areas, partly in cooperation with universities and research institutes.
