Calculated results from [[Mathematical Models for Coastal Areas and Estuaries|numerical models]] used at BAW-DH can be converted into BDF-Format (description of this data format is available in German only). This allows a unified approach for data analyses typically carried through in the post-processing stage independent of the numerical model used to calculate the results. In the following you may find an overview with respect to the actually available tools.

E.g.: layer thickness (related to a grid), geodetic height, water density or pressure in the water column. Many of these quantities are needed in later analyses of energetic fluxes. Calculations may be performed for either spatially available data or data along profiles.
* [[ENERF]]: Program ENERF was especially designed to calculate some energetic quantities of interest out of two- or threedimensional synoptic data sets. Wind induced energy input, dissipation of energy at the bottom, specific kinetic or potential energy are some of them. In general new quantities can be calculated from known quantities using arbitrary combinations of elementary mathematical operations.

* [[ArcGIS-Applications]] (in German only): With this extension for the GIS program ArcMAP it is possible to directly import data stored within different of BAW-DH's file formats into ArcGIS-shapefiles. Imported data can be later analyzed using GIS methods or handed over to external partners for further analysis.
