Supplement to "Maushake, C.; Becker, M.; Wehr, D.; Kösters,F. (2018): Unstable vertical salinity gradients caused by fluid mud formation in the hyper-turbid Ems estuary, submitted to Journal of Geophysical Research - Oceans"

CTD / OBS - Data
This data set consists of vertical CTD / OBS - casts through the water column in the lower Ems estuary between Ems-km 3 and 18. Every XLSX-File represents one longitudinal survey around highwater of the particular day. A format describtion is given in the first sheet of every XLSX-file.

CTD / OBS - casts Ems-km 5-19, 29-June-2015 (xlsx-File, 1 MB)
CTD / OBS - casts Ems-km 6-13, 01-July-2015 (xlsx-File, 0.95 MB)
CTD / OBS - casts Ems-km 3-13, 03-July-2015, 12:50-13:50 (xlsx-File, 085 MB)
CTD / OBS - casts Ems-km 3-12, 03-July-2015, 1350-14:50 (xlsx-File, 0.26 MB)

Salinity / SSC / Bulk density grid files
This data set consists of grid files representing Salinity, Suspended Solids Concentration (SSC) and Bulk density in the lower Ems estuary between Ems-km 3 and 18. Every grid files represents one parameter as derived from longitudinal CTD/OBS - surveys around highwater of the particular day. Grid files are stored in binary grid file format of the software package Surfer (Vers. 15) used for gridding and contouring and in ASCII XYZ - file format. The source file is stored in ASCII CSV-format.

current velocities / waterlevel data
This data set consists of monitoring data of the stations "Weener" (Ems-km 6,890) and "Leerort" (Ems-km 14,738). Data are stored in ASCII file format with header.

SES rawdata
This data set consists of raw echosounder data as stored by the parametric sediment echosounder SES2000 of Innomar Technologie GmbH, Rostock, Germany. The data have been collected during cross-sectional surveys over the period of a tidal cycle at the location of "Jemgum" (Ems-km 21,3). The file format is a proprietary binary format which is only readable with the softwarepackage ISE of Innomar.
