Definition

The load-bearing capacity is the ability of the load-bearing structure and its load-bearing parts to withstand any mechanical forces or deformations which it is expected to withstand during the erection and planned period of use. In case of a lack of load bearing capacity, there is a collapse or other forms of structural failure or component failure.
