Seiche

Definition

Standing wave in the water bodies of lakes, inland seas, bays or harbors; Standing long-period waves in completely or partially closed basin; A standing wave oscillation of an enclosed water body that continues, pendulum fashion, after the cessation of the originating force, which may have been either seismic or atmospheric.
