Definition

Part of a waterway on the bank with or without land access outside of a harbor designated for berthing of vessels, in which the watercraft can lie wholly or partly in the fairway. A mooring site is usually of several berths. Lock channels / locking ports fulfill a protective function against floods. They can then be identified as "flood-protected moorings".
