Definition
The one width requirement, which is obtained by summing the lane widths of upstream and downstream traffic from measured data and dynamic performance modeling after adding common safety distances. To account for the influence of ambient conditions (route dependent flow differences, water level, etc.), ship and skipper properties, the design is placed under an unfavorable constellation structure that can be undercut in more favorable conditions.
